Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Stock Risk Briefing (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. What the Service is
Stock Risk Briefing publishes plain-language, descriptive summaries of publicly available risk-related information about U.S. public companies, organized into four fixed categories. The Service is not investment advice, a recommendation to buy or sell securities, or a personalized financial recommendation.
2. Not investment advice
Content is general and impersonal. It does not consider your financial situation, goals, or risk tolerance. You are solely responsible for your own investment decisions. Consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions.
3. Accounts
- You must provide a valid email address to sign in.
- You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Do not share access or use the Service for unlawful purposes.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse fair-use limits or violate these Terms.
4. Plans and fair use
- Free: Financial Risk category only, up to 3 briefings per calendar month.
- Pro ($12/month): all four categories, up to 10 briefings per day and 50 per month under fair use.
- Viewing briefings you have already generated does not count toward generation limits.
- We may adjust limits or pricing with reasonable notice.
5. Payments and subscriptions
- Pro subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe.
- Prices are shown at checkout. Taxes may apply where required.
- You may cancel anytime via the Stripe customer portal ("Manage subscription" on your dashboard). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable once a billing period has started.
6. AI-generated content
Briefings are generated automatically from public sources and may be incomplete, outdated, or contain errors. We apply filters to reduce prohibited advice language, but no automated system is perfect. Verify important facts independently before relying on any content.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, bulk-download, or resell Service content without permission.
- Circumvent usage limits or authentication.
- Reverse engineer the Service or probe systems without authorization.
- Use the Service to harass others or violate applicable law.
8. Intellectual property
We own the Service, branding, and software. You receive a limited, non-exclusive license to use the Service for personal or internal business research. Briefing text is provided for your own use; redistribution or commercial republication requires our written consent.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT CONTENT IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR CURRENT.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS ($50), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.
12. Changes
We may modify the Service or these Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in courts located in Illinois, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
